Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Degree qualified Civil Engineer to join our project teams as a Section Engineer. You will resolve technical problems, carry out inspections in line with the ITP, and prepare survey information and red-lined records for As-built documentation.

You will ensure equipment is calibrated, construction activities comply with contract requirements, and that on-site personnel receive clear information. Experience in civil projects, surveying/set-out, and QHSE knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified Civil Engineer or similar required.
• Experience as Section or Site Engineer on construction or civil projects preferred.
• Experience with surveying and setting out techniques; strong QA/QS, HSE understanding.

Responsibilities

• Resolve technical problems at all levels on site.
• Carry out inspections per Inspection and Test Plan in a timely manner.
• Produce survey information and red-lined drawings for As-built records.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated and in-date per manufacturer requirements.
• Ensure site operations comply with contract requirements and procedures.
• Provide clear, accurate information to site personnel; support KPI updates and progress reports.

A day in the life of a Murphy Section Engineer:

• Resolving technical problems at all levels.
• Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan in a timely manner.
• The production of survey information and red - lined drawings for the completion of the As-built records.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated, in date and suitable checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers' defined requirements.
• Ensure construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate procedures.
• Ensure all site personnel have clear, accurate and appropriate information to carry out their duties.
• Supervises the outputs and confirms that the project environmental requirements are met.
• Ensure all materials on site are suitable, stored in line with manufacturer's recommendations current working practice, contract specification or project requirements.
• Assist the Site Management team to update KPI's, material reconciliation and progress reports.

Degree qualified Civil Engineering or Similar

• Previous experience within a Section or Site Engineer role
• Experience on Construction or Civil Engineering projects.
• Experienced in surveying and setting out techniques
• Sound understanding of Quality, Safety, Health, Environmental and Sustainability project requirements.
