This will be the Murex Platform team part of the Murex crew in IB&M Technology. Here, they work in close collaboration with the Murex Functional teams focusing on the various key functions of the platform (Front-Office/Pre-trade, Operations/Post-trade, Market Risk, Credit Risk and Collateral management).Bank's purpose is to provide a stable, scalable and resilient platform and help those teams and their business stakeholders realise maximum value from Murex. To achieve this, we are constantly improving all the facets of the platform including how it is deployed in the cloud, how it is set up and structured, and, finally how it’s operated. Equally important is the rollout of self-serve capabilities through web portals, to manage non-production workloads as well as take on administrative functions in the production workspace.
Responsibilities
- Willingness to support primarily Murex application & assist with other applications on the desk as well.
- Use knowledge of Murex Business processes and support in the Murex application across front to back.
- Carry out enhancements to maintenance/housekeeping scripts as required and monitor the DB growth periodically.
- Handles cloud Environment preparation, refresh, rebuild, upkeep, maintenance, and upgrade activities.
- Ensure cloud cost optimisation.
- Troubleshooting of Murex environment-specific issues including Infrastructure related issues and update pipelines for a permanent fix.
- Handling EOD execution and troubleshooting of issues related to it.
- Participate in analysis, solutioning, and deployment of solution for production issues during EoD.
- Participate in the release activity and coordinate with QA/Release teams.
- Participate in AWS stack deployment, AWS AMI patching, and stack configuration to ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
- Address requests like warehouse rebuild, maintenance, Perform Health/sanity checks, create XVA engine, environment restores & backup in AWS as per project need.
- Perform Weekend maintenance and perform health checks in the production environment during the weekend.
- Work From Office: 5 days a week; the support engineer will be working at the Desk
SKILLS
Must have
- 4-8 years of experience in Murex Support.
- Demonstrable solid hands-on experience supporting production instance of Murex whilst focusing on ongoing stability and performance of the Murex Platform
- Constantly contributing to the codebase to improve its supportability and influence the change roadmap to guarantee its long-term sustainability
- Are confident engineers with a proven track record improving trading systems through permanent remediation and automation
- Have experience using public cloud services and supporting cloud-hosted applications
- Pride themselves on their knowledge which they are sharing with their peers whilst continuously learning more themselves along the way
- Have solid hands-on experience operating CICD pipelines using common industry tools like Github and Jenkins
- Pride themselves on mentoring and coaching junior team members.Technical Skills:Experience/exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will be an added advantage:
- AWS: EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch
- CI/CD tools (i.e. GitHub Actions, Step Functions, Jenkins)
- Observability (especially the OpenTelemetry framework)
- Python
- DevSecOps experience
- AWS CDK library
