Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel Government and Defence seeks a Munitions Transport Operations Manager to lead specialist transport across the UK. You will ensure secure, compliant munitions transport services, manage multiple centres, and drive safety, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

You will lead teams, maintain licences, oversee budgets, and uphold the highest standards of integrity and professional service within this defence logistics partnership.

Qualifications

• Holder of Manager CPC National & International Road Haulage Licence required.
• Experience managing a transport operation handling ammunition or sensitive materiel.
• In-depth knowledge of QSHE and transport regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Transport Managers and teams across multiple UK sites with a safety-first mindset.
• Ensure compliance with Operator's Licence obligations and legal road transport rules.
• Oversee fleet, budgets (~£4M), and performance against KPIs and service levels.
• Drive continuous improvement, governance, audits, and depot inspections.
• Build strong customer and stakeholder relationships and maintain high service standards.
• Champion health, safety, environment and staff training.
