Job summary

Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) seeks a Logistics Manager to lead the safe, secure management of weapons, munitions, and associated inventory for UK Defence operations. You will oversee end-to-end warehouse activities, ensuring compliance with safety, security and environmental regulations while delivering against demanding timelines.

You will supervise teams, drive risk assessments, collaborate with military units, engineers and suppliers, and maintain inventory integrity.

Qualifications

• Leadership and management experience in a regulated environment
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders to deliver operational outcomes
• Strong IT skills including MS Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop teams delivering reception, storage, maintenance and issue activities for WOME
• Manage complex logistics and warehouse operations to meet priorities
• Act as focal point for safety, security and compliance within your area
• Lead risk assessments and implement safe systems of work in regulated environments
• Manage facilities, ensuring compliance with explosives, health and safety, environmental and security regulations
• Provide expert advice to customers, stakeholders and senior managers on WOME logistics
• Drive continuous improvement through planning, problem solving and performance management
• Lead investigations into incidents and inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions
• Ensure the physical security and accountability of high-value Defence assets
• Support major operational activities including large-scale ammunition movements and replenishment
