Job summary

Southern Water is seeking a Process Technician – Multiskilled to join our wastewater maintenance team in Canterbury, with responsibilities across pumping stations, sludge centres, and treatment works. The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance and fault diagnosis to minimise downtime and environmental impact.

You will install and commission new plant, support compliance with safety and environmental standards, and work with internal teams and contractors to deliver reliable

Qualifications

• The candidate must hold Level 3 NVQ Mechanical and/or Electrical qualifications with certificates.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments.

Responsibilities

• Undertake reactive and planned maintenance of mechanical and electrical plant across wastewater sites.
• Install and commission new plant and equipment in line with safety standards.
• Respond to alarms, diagnose faults and perform repairs or escalate quickly.
• Inspect and test mechanical and electrical systems per procedures and statutory requirements.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and external contractors.
