Job summary

Auto Skills UK are seeking a Multiskilled Bodyshop Technician in Swanscombe to carry out panel, paint, strip and fit work from start to finish. The role offers a basic salary in the £40,000-£50,000 range with OTE £55,000+ and a full-time permanent contract.

You will work a 45-hour week with overtime on Saturdays, using manufacturer-approved repair methods and MIG/MAG welding. Applicants should have Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Accident Repair and be comfortable with waterborne paints and

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Accident Repair (Body, Paint or MET) (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / VRQ / ATA or equivalent).
• Proven experience across panel, paint and strip and fit.
• Competent MIG/MAG and spot welding skills.
• Confident with waterborne paint systems and colour matching.
• Good understanding of manufacturer repair methods and health and safety procedures.
• Reliable, organised approach and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Stripping and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components to allow access for repair.
• Repairing, replacing and aligning damaged panels, including welding where required.
• Preparing repaired areas for paint, including filling, sanding and masking.
• Mixing paint, colour matching and applying primers, base coats and clear coats.
• Polishing and rectifying the finish to a high standard.
• Identifying damaged or faulty components and reporting any additional work required.
• Following manufacturer repair methods and health and safety procedures.
• Working with Bodyshop colleagues to keep repairs on schedule.

MULTISKILLED BODYSHOP TECHNICIAN (PANEL, PAINT & STRIP & FIT)

Location: Swanscombe

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000+ Basic Salary DOE

OTE: £55,000+

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, flexible start time, 45 hours per week + overtime available on Saturdays, 9:00am - 4:00pm

THE ROLE

As a Multiskilled Bodyshop Technician, you will carry out accident repairs across panel, paint and strip and fit, returning vehicles to their pre-accident condition using manufacturer-approved methods and to the required quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

ABOUT YOU

• Proven experience across panel, paint and strip and fit within an accident repair centre or Bodyshop.
• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Accident Repair (Body, Paint or MET) (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / VRQ / ATA or equivalent).
• Competent MIG/MAG and spot welding skills.
• Confident with waterborne paint systems and colour matching.
• Good understanding of manufacturer repair methods and safe working practices.
• A reliable, organised approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
