Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking a Multiskilled Bodyshop Technician in Reading. You will work across panel repairs, paint preparation and refinishing, stripping and fitting vehicle components to high standards. The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with a basic salary of £45,000–£50,000+ and an OTE of £55,000+.

Candidates should have a recognised Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Body Repair/Refinishing and proven experience across the listed skills. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Body Repair and/or Vehicle Refinishing, with commitment to development.
• Experience as Multiskilled Bodyshop Technician across panel, paint, preparation, stripping and fitting.
• Able to work to high-quality standards with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Carry out panel repairs and assist with restoration of damaged bodywork.
• Prepare vehicle panels and surfaces for paintwork.
• Undertake paint-related tasks appropriate to your experience and skill set.
• Strip and refit vehicle components as required during repairs.
• Ensure components are fitted correctly and panels align to standards.
• Identify repair issues and communicate additional work requirements.
• Follow repair procedures and health and safety guidelines while maintaining an organised workspace.

THE ROLE

As a Multiskilled Bodyshop Technician, you'll work across panel repairs, paint preparation and refinishing, stripping and fitting vehicle components. You'll need to be adaptable, work accurately and help ensure vehicles are repaired to the required standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out panel repairs and assisting with the restoration of damaged bodywork.

ABOUT YOU

• Recognised apprenticeship or relevant Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Body Repair and/or Vehicle Refinishing (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / VRQ / ATA or equivalent), appropriate to your trade skills, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
• Previous experience as a Multiskilled Bodyshop Technician or across panel, paint, preparation, stripping and fitting.
• Confident undertaking a range of vehicle body repair tasks.
• Able to prepare panels and surfaces for refinishing where required.
• Experienced in stripping and refitting vehicle components.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality repairs.
• Adaptable, reliable and able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
