Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking Additional Proactive Multi-Skilled Shift Engineers (Electrically Biased) to join our expanding team at our UK conversion plant. You will respond to equipment breakdowns, carry out preventative maintenance, and drive improvements across production shifts.

The role requires self-motivation, clear communication, and a continuous improvement mindset. Continental shift pattern and a focus on safety underpin the work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of BTEC Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent.
• Electrical and mechanical installation experience.
• Experience using PLC I/O for diagnostics.
• FMCG/production or service industry background preferred.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to prioritise preventative, predictive and reactive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for Reactive and Preventative Maintenance requirements.
• Identify necessary parts and equipment and book out stored items to help stock level controls.
• Carry out electrical and mechanical installations and repairs within skill set and scope of ability.
• Make rational and informed decisions to address breakdowns and complete projects.
• Complete all maintenance activities safely and to required standards, and contribute to KPIs.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, H&S and other departments.
