Job summary

Northwood Consuma in Ellesmere Port is seeking an Electrically biased Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to sustain and improve line reliability within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing facility. You will support commissioning of new lines, develop annual maintenance plans, and cross-train operators on changeovers and basic maintenance tasks.

The role requires a Level 3+ Electrical qualification and a flexible approach to shifts and overtime. Prior FMCG experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Multiskilled or Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer.
• Flexibility to support a mechanical perspective when required.
• Willingness to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern and overtime.
• FMCG or converting background advantageous.
• Proactive approach to preventative maint enance (PPMs) and issue prevention.

Responsibilities

• Sustain and improve equipment reliability and efficiency.

• Support commissioning of new lines and develop yearly maintenance plans.
• Cross-skill machine operators in changeovers, basic line maintenance, clean-downs, and basic issue rectification to reduce downtime.

The shift pattern:

• Continental shift (4 on 4 off, 6-6).
• 2 days and 2 nights (22 shift holidays per annum)
• Your role will be Days based during initial induction.

In a nutshell, you will be involved in:

• Sustaining and improving equipment reliability and efficiency
• Creating and monitoring innovative maintenance programs
• Supporting commissioning of new lines and developing performance measures and yearly maintenance plans.
• Cross-skilling Machine Operators' skillset in relation to changeovers, basic line maintenance, clean-downs, and basic issue rectification to reduce downtime.

What we need from you:

• Proven experience as an Multiskilled or Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer
• Willingness to support from a mechanical perspective from time to time
• Flexible approach to the shift pattern and overtime
• FMCG or converting background
• Proactive approach to PPMs and issue prevention to increase/extend reliability.
• Level 3+ Electrical qualification (ideally through a time served apprenticeship)
