Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Painter & Decorator (Multi Skilled Craftperson) to carry out specialist coatings, decoration and general maintenance across Trust estates. The role requires fabricating and erecting scaffolding as needed and coordinating with other trades to uphold high service standards.

You will work across building and engineering areas, require a full UK driving licence, and may be asked to support on-call duties and after-hours work as required.

Responsibilities

• Apply specialist coatings in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
• Assemble and erect mobile and aluminium scaffolding towers as required
• Undertake non-complex tasks of other trades including fault finding
• Carry a bleep/pager to ensure a responsive service
• Liaise closely with other trade groups, contractors, staff, end users, service providers and manufacturers to ensure high standard of service
• Participate in the on-call gritting rota when requested
• Willing to undertake work outside normal working hours
• Demonstrate leadership skills and be multi-skilled across traditional, modern and complex building structures and engineering areas
• Undertake essential decorating works and general building maintenance activities
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, colleagues, contractors and trust-wide service users
