Job summary

MTrec Recruitment is representing our client in Wingate seeking a multiskilled Maintenance Technician. You will maintain and repair critical manufacturing equipment, working 2 shifts (06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00), Monday to Friday, to ensure minimal downtime.

The role requires time-served engineering experience, Level 3 BTEC in engineering or equivalent, and hands-on ability with motors, pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics. English communication and flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineer with at least a Level 3 BTEC in engineering or related discipline.
• Electrical bias preferred but not essential.
• Experience in busy manufacturing/engineering settings is essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in electrical systems.
• Interpret schematics to diagnose issues and implement solutions.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and safety inspections.
• Collaborate with team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
• Provide leadership and supervision to junior maintenance staff.

The role will support the site by maintaining and repairing business-critical equipment and would be well suited to those with a background in manufacturing/ engineering.

The role is working a 2-shift pattern, 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00, Monday to Friday.

The Job you will do

About you

• You will be a time-served engineer with at least a level 3 BTEC in engineering or a related discipline. (Electrical Bias preferred but not essential)
• Previous experience working within busy manufacturing, production or engineering settings is essential.
• Ideally, you will have experience on equipment such as motors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• An 18th edition would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Proficiency in the maintenance of electrical systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Flexibility needed around working hours, shift work, and occasional weekend work
