Job summary

The Curve Group in Wednesbury is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to keep plant and equipment running in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance across plant and building services, and drive planned, preventative and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime.

You will work with the Engineering Manager, use a CMMS to record work, and support installation, commissioning and fault-finding of automated equipment.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Engineering.
• 18th Edition qualification.
• Experience with PLC systems and electrical controls.
• Knowledge of AC/DC drives, motors and pumps.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Apprentice-trained engineering background.
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of high-temperature ovens and blow moulders is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance across plant, machinery and building equipment.
• Complete planned preventative and reactive maintenance within agreed timeframes.
• Fault-find and repair automated manufacturing equipment.
• Carry out electrical installations in line with current regulations.
• Support installation, commissioning and maintenance of automated equipment.
• Diagnose PLC faults and work with AC/DC drives, motors and pumps.
• Maintain and document preventative maintenance schedules using a CMMS.
• Identify recurring faults and proactively develop solutions to improve equipment reliability.
• Work independently and as part of a wider engineering team to achieve targets.
• Ensure all work complies with health & safety policies and procedures.
