Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is assisting a South Wales manufacturing business to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer on a 2-shift pattern. The role focuses on PMs, breakdowns, PLCs and hydraulic/pneumatic systems within a busy production environment.

The successful candidate will be time-served with electrical bias or strong multi-skilled capability, capable of independent work within a maintenance team, and committed to continuous improvement and reliability.

Qualifications

• Time-served maintenance engineer with electrical bias or strong multi-skilled capability.
• Experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, automotive FMCG, or similar environments.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with drives, inverters, control systems and PLCs.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work independently whilst contributing within a maintenance team.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across manufacturing and production equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and restore equipment efficiently.
• Maintain and repair a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Fault find on PLC-controlled systems and automated machinery.
• Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Assist with machinery improvements, installations, and commissioning projects.
• Drive improvements in equipment reliability and production performance.
• Complete maintenance records and engineering documentation accurately.
• Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety standards.
