Job summary
Sofina Foods in Haverhill is seeking an Engineer to provide frontline reactive maintenance on site. You will identify root causes, restore equipment, and implement cost-effective improvements to boost efficiency and reliability of plant assets.
The role involves 4 on 4 off days 0530-1730, with a focus on safety, lean maintenance and continuous improvement across sliced meat production equipment.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge across disciplines.
- Breathing Apparatus and Fire Fighting certification is desirable.
- Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and TPM approaches.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Food industry experience with sliced meats equipment is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
- Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently per regulations.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with production and engineering to minimise downtime and boost line efficiency.
- Uphold health, safety and environmental best practices.
- Contribute to lean maintenance, TPM and CI activities.
