Job summary

gforce employment + recruitment is recruiting a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer for a well‑established manufacturing operation in Matlock, Derbyshire. This hands‑on role involves maintaining plant and machinery to minimise downtime and ensure safe, efficient operation.

You will be electrically or mechanically biased with a strong all‑round skill set, carrying out both planned maintenance and reactive breakdown support.

Qualifications

• Multiskilled maintenance engineer with electrical or mechanical bias.
• Experience in manufacturing environments.
• NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent.
• Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production machinery, plant and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
• Respond to breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Work on motors, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors and associated equipment.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications and upgrades where required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all work is completed in line with site procedures.
• Work closely with production teams to identify recurring faults and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety requirements, including safe isolation procedures.
