Job summary

Blade Recruitment is seeking a Multiskilled Engineer for an educational facility in Kingston upon Thames. The role focuses on maintaining and supporting building services to keep campus operations safe and compliant. Salary £36,000–£37,400 per year, 37 hours per week, on-call rota, with excellent benefits.

The ideal candidate has qualifications or strong experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, joinery, or related trades, plus experience in facilities management or maintenance environments.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualifications or strong experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Joinery, or related trades.
• Experience in facilities management or maintenance environments.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently or in a team.
• Familiarity with CAFM systems and BMS is desirable.
• Experience supervising contractors or supporting projects is desirable.
• Experience working in educational, healthcare, or large-site environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and ventilation systems.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs using technical expertise.
• Use Planon CAFM system and Building Management Systems to record and monitor work.
• Interpret building drawings and understand basic BMS/control systems.
• Collaborate with colleagues and assist contractors.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.
• Support small projects and installations.
