Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking a Multiskilled Fabrication Operative for a busy Cottenham, Cambridge-based manufacturing team. The role requires hands-on work across sheet metal fabrication, punching, folding and welding, with a practical understanding of general fabrication tasks.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a fabrication workshop, be able to read drawings, and contribute to quality workmanship in a varied production environment. Mon-Fri day shifts, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication or engineering workshop.
• Good understanding of punching, folding and welding processes.
• Experience operating fabrication machinery or working with sheet metal.
• Ability to use hand tools and workshop equipment confidently.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Operate and assist CNC punching machinery.
• Carry out sheet metal folding and bending using press brake machinery.
• Undertake general welding and fabrication duties.
• Work with sheet metal components to produce finished products.
• Read and follow engineering drawings and job specifications.
• Carry out quality checks to ensure products meet standards.
• Assist with assembly and finishing processes where required.
