Job summary

Rhino Recruitment is recruiting a Multiskilled Engineer for a site-based role in Cwmbran. The role involves maintaining and repairing site machinery with a broad electrical and mechanical skillset. Overtime is available, and the shift pattern alternates between two hours.

The job offers a practical, hands-on environment with focus on safety and reliability. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, install and modify plant, and keep accurate records.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a multiskilled engineering or maintenance role.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
• Experience working with industrial machinery and equipment.
• Ability to diagnose faults logically and work effectively under pressure.
• Good understanding of preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive, flexible and hands-on approach to engineering.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults efficiently and safely.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.
• Undertake installation, servicing and modification of plant, machinery and equipment.
• Complete electrical fault-finding and basic control system diagnostics.
• Carry out mechanical repairs, including bearings, belts, pumps, motors, conveyors and other mechanical components.
• Assist with continuous improvement and engineering projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete relevant documentation.
• Work closely with production and other departments to resolve engineering issues.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures and health & safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Support contractors and external engineers where required.
