Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants are looking for a Shift Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a busy manufacturing site in Kent. You will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, carrying out planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns and driving reliability improvements across both sites.

The role requires an engineering apprenticeship or recognised qualification, multi-skilled maintenance experience in manufacturing, and strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.

Qualifications

• Engineering apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification.
• Multi-skilled maintenance experience within manufacturing.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with three-phase systems, motors, drives and pneumatics.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• CMMS experience.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Complete PPM and reactive maintenance
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
• Support utilities including steam, compressed air, refrigeration and electrical systems
• Maintain bakery and packaging machinery
• Record maintenance activities using CMMS
• Support equipment upgrades, installations and projects
• Conduct root cause analysis to reduce downtime
• Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and food manufacturing standards

The Role

What We’re Looking For

Desirable

• Food manufacturing, bakery or FMCG experience
• PLC fault‑finding skills
• 18th Edition qualification
• Boiler or steam systems knowledge
• IOSH, HACCP or MEWP certification
