Job summary

Morgan Jones is recruiting a Shift Multi-Skilled Engineer for a Kent-based site. You will cover a Sunday-Thursday night shift, performing PPMs, responding to breakdowns, and helping to improve reliability across production equipment and site services.

The role requires strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills, experience with three-phase systems, motors, drives and pneumatics, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Engineering apprenticeship or recognized engineering qualification is required.
• Experience in multi-skilled maintenance within manufacturing is essential.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills are needed.
• Experience with three-phase systems, motors, drives and pneumatics is required.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics; CMMS experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Complete planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Support utilities including steam, compressed air, refrigeration and electrical systems.
• Maintain bakery and packaging machinery.
• Record maintenance activities using CMMS.
• Support equipment upgrades, installations and projects.
• Conduct root cause analysis to reduce downtime.
• Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota.

What We're Looking For

• Engineering apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification
• Multi-skilled maintenance experience within manufacturing
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience with three-phase systems, motors, drives and pneumatics
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics
• CMMS experience
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• Food manufacturing, bakery or FMCG experience
• PLC fault-finding skills
• 18th Edition qualification
• Boiler or steam systems knowledge
• IOSH, HACCP or MEWP certification
