Job summary

Extons Foods Ltd is seeking a skilled Multiskilled Engineer with an electrical bias to join our expanding UK cheese production operation in Manchester. The role involves maintaining production lines through a mix of planned preventative maintenance and rapid breakdown support.

You will work a 4-on-4-off pattern, covering two 12-hour early shifts and two 12-hour night shifts, with weekend lone-working. We prize safe, reliable equipment and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering qualification to a minimum of ONC level 3.
• Proven multiskilled engineer experience in food manufacturing or fast-paced production.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills with a methodical approach.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled PPM tasks across production line machinery and site equipment.
• Record all PPM activity and report emerging issues before breakdowns.
• Contribute to refining PPM schedules for continuous improvement.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and apply a fix-first-time mindset.
• Support site in achieving World Class manufacturing standards.
