Job summary

Bilfinger in Warrington is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple contracts. You will handle new starters, leavers, and termination payments, while ensuring compliance with pension and payroll legislation.

The role requires advanced Excel skills, strong knowledge of HMRC reporting, and experience in a fast-paced multi-site environment. A CIPP qualification is desirable, and the successful candidate will join Bilfinger's payroll team.

Qualifications

• Payroll experience in a fast paced multi-site, multi-contractual environment.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Up-to-date knowledge of payroll and pension legislation.
• Up-to-date knowledge of HMRC reporting including benefits in kind.
• Desirable: CIPP payroll qualification.

Responsibilities

• Process a payroll from start to finish across multiple contracts within designated timeframes.
• Process pay in accordance with various pay agreements.
• Set up and process new starters.
• Process leavers and applicable termination payments.
• Calculate redundancy and notice payments.
• Calculate statutory and occupational payments (SMP, SPP, SSP, maternity pay, sick pay).
• Produce reports for departments across the business.
• Liaise with pensions, HMRC, and courts as needed.
• Handle payroll queries promptly and professionally.
• Maintain records and filing to a high standard.
• Keep up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation.
