Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society is seeking an experienced Peripatetic Care Home Manager to provide operational leadership across multiple care homes, including Winnersh and other locations. The role focuses on delivering safe, person-centred care and supporting homes to improve quality and compliance.

You will work with Care Home Managers and leaders to strengthen leadership capability, drive governance and ensure high standards of care and resident experience across services.

Qualifications

• Experienced senior care professional with leadership in residential or nursing care.
• Knowledge of CQC regulations and health & social care law.
• Ability to lead quality improvement and governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical management and leadership support to homes facing challenges.
• Undertake interim Care Home Manager responsibilities when required.
• Coach and mentor new Care Home Managers and senior staff.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits and service reviews.
• Develop and deliver improvement plans addressing risks and performance concerns.
• Support services with CQC inspections and monitoring visits.
• Lead investigations into complaints and safeguarding concerns.
• Produce evidence-based reports, recommendations and action plans.
• Support governance, risk management, safeguarding and compliance.
• Build relationships with residents, relatives, regulators and partners.
• Provide temporary line management when a manager is vacant or absent.
• Support succession planning and leadership development.
