Job description

Multidisciplinary Registered Veterinary Nurse

Location: Southfields Veterinary Specialists

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours/week

Salary: From £28,000/annum, depending on experience

We are excited to have the opportunity to welcome a new team member to our passionate, forward-thinking practice. Backed by the Linnaeus Group, we’re benefiting from significant investment in exciting new services, cutting-edge facilities, and a truly modern working environment.

This is more than just a job—it’s a chance to grow your career in a place where your development and well-being genuinely matter. With a dedicated and supportive team around you, you’ll have the freedom to focus on what you do best, in a warm, collaborative atmosphere designed to help you thrive.

You will work as part of our large, multi-disciplinary team, consisting of consultants, residents, interns, nurses and Patient Care Assistants (PCA), to care for a large and varied referral and emergency caseload. This is a rewarding and challenging role that will require teamwork and dedication to each service and their patients.

Our multidisciplinary rotations included, but are not limited to, internal medicine, neurology, diagnostic imaging, inpatient care, oncology, surgery and anaesthesia. This is an exciting and diverse role that provides the opportunity to contribute to all our clinical services, with encouragement and support to upskill in a particular area of interest.

You will work a range of shifts between 7am - 8.30pm and 2:8 weekends with time off in lieu following.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about patient care, eager to learn, and ready to be part of a collaborative, supportive team. You’ll be a strong communicator, solution-focused, and enthusiastic about developing new skills while helping others grow, too.

Previous referral experience would be a bonus—but it’s absolutely not essential. We’ll provide full training and support to help you thrive in your role and feel confident every step of the way.

You’ll need to meet the following essential criteria:

  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Over 1 year's experience working as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
  • Have an excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Maintain a professional and caring approach in all aspects of your work

At Southfields, you’ll find a place where your growth matters, your voice is heard, and your contribution truly makes a difference. You’ll play an important role in shaping our future through the development of new procedures and helping to refine the way we work together to provide the very best care.

As a valued member of our team, you will receive:

  • 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays and Birthday Leave
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • External CPD funded
  • Extensive free online Linnaeus CPD program
  • Career progression opportunities
  • Staff discount schemes
  • Life Assurance
  • Enhanced sickness pay
  • Enhanced equal family leave
  • E-car salary sacrifice scheme
  • Employer contribution pension scheme
  • Wellness program including:
    • Employee assistance program
    • Eyecare voucher scheme
    • Free annual Flu jab
    • Cycle to work scheme
  • Recruitment referral reward scheme
  • Excellent location only 30 minutes by train from central London, within easy reach of the beautiful Essex countryside and extremely well located for international travel links by air and train.

At Linnaeus, we are committed to supporting the physical and mental health of all our Associates. We have an amazing team of Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) across our practices and central support office in addition to a confidential Employee Assistance Program which is available for everyone.
