Job summary

The Hyde Group is seeking a hands-on Multi Trader - Carpenter to join our team in Brighton, covering North of Brighton, Crawley and Haywards Heath.

You will carry out day-to-day repairs in Hyde homes, ensuring work is completed right first time and customers are treated with respect in their homes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience across multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing and plastering.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Strong problem-solving and customer-focused attitude.
• Full UK driving license and UPVC repair skills.
• Experience in social housing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out multi-trade repairs across carpentry, plumbing, plastering and general maintenance.
• Fix doors, kitchens, bathrooms, leaks, walls and flooring.
• Complete patch plastering, minor tiling and painting.
• Work independently and with other trades when needed.
• Follow work orders, report progress and materials used.
• Maintain safety and provide a friendly service in homes.
• UPVC repairs and maintenance: windows and doors components.
• Install new fire doors with frame adjustments.

Multi Trader – Carpenter

Brighton (covering North of Brighton, Crawley, and Haywards Heath)

If you're a hands-on tradesperson who can turn their hand to a range of jobs and takes pride in doing things properly, we'd like to hear from you.

As a Multi Trader - Carpenter at Hyde, you'll be working in our homes carrying out day-to-day repairs and maintenance. You'll be trusted to get jobs done right first time and to treat our customers with respect in their homes.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out multi-trade repairs including carpentry, plumbing, plastering and general maintenance
• Fixing day-to-day issues such as doors, kitchens, bathrooms, leaks, walls and flooring
• Completing patch plastering, minor tiling, painting and similar finishing works
• Working on your own jobs but also alongside other trades when needed
• Following work orders and reporting back on progress and materials used
• Working safely at all times and following Hyde's health and safety procedures
• Providing a professional, friendly service to customers in their homes
• UPVC Repairs & Maintenance: Repairing and maintaining windows and doors, including replacing hinges, handles, and locking mechanisms.
• Installing new Fire doors, including cutting and adjusting frames.

What we're looking for

• Solid experience across multiple trades, especially carpentry, plumbing and plastering
• Confident using hand and power tools
• Able to work independently and manage your own workload
• A practical problem-solver who can spot issues and fix them properly
• Good communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude
• Physically fit and happy with hands-on work
• Experience working in social housing is a bonus
• A full, valid UK driving licence
• Must have UPVC skills
