Job summary

Guardian Jobs is seeking a skilled Multi Trade Operative to join a busy facilities management team in Nottingham. You will tackle repairs across joinery, basic plumbing, tiling and painting, keeping buildings safe and presentable for hospitality and social housing sectors.

The role is site-based across the East Midlands and Yorkshire, with a requirement for a full UK driving licence, on-call rota participation, and a commitment to high workmanship standards within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Joinery as core trade with practical skills in at least one secondary area (basic plumbing, tiling, painting / decorating, or groundworks).
• Ability to work productively and meet strict deadlines.
• High standards of workmanship with strong attention to detail.
• Professional and polite manners with clients and team members.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to join a shared on-call rota (roughly one week every three months).

Responsibilities

• Fixing and Repairing: Responding to daily maintenance requests to fix building issues quickly and safely.
• Using Multiple Trades: Carrying out day-to-day repairs including carpentry, basic plumbing, tiling, patch plastering, and touch-up painting.
• Planning Ahead: Completing routine safety checks and planned maintenance tasks to stop problems before they happen.
• Staying Connected: Using a company smartphone to receive daily jobs, update progress, and log parts used.
• Being Professional: Being polite with building occupants and clients, keeping them updated on progress and leaving work area clean and tidy.
