Job summary

The London Borough of Hillingdon is seeking a skilled Multi Trade Plumber to join our Repairs Team, delivering high-quality maintenance across housing stock. You will diagnose faults, carry out plumbing repairs and related multi-trade works, and complete jobs to a first-time fix with strong customer service.

You'll work independently within a supportive team, using mobile tech to record work and liaising with residents to arrange follow-on repairs, while prioritising safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a plumber in repairs, maintenance or housing.
• Experience carrying out a range of plumbing repairs and multi-trade works.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to diagnose issues and identify practical solutions.

As a Multi Trade Plumber, you will carry out a wide range of plumbing repairs, maintenance and associated trade work within occupied and void properties across the borough.

You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, identifying the most effective repair solution and completing work to a high standard while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction. Working independently and as part of a wider repairs service, you will play a key role in helping us deliver responsive and efficient maintenance services.

• Diagnose plumbing faults and identify appropriate repair solutions.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance to a variety of plumbing systems and installations.
• Complete associated multi-trade works required to achieve a first-time fix.
• Install, repair and maintain items including hot water cylinders, immersion heaters, showers, pumps and controls.
• Carry out drainage and blockage clearance work where required.
• Ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant standards and procedures.
• Liaise directly with residents to explain works and arrange any follow-on repairs.
• Work closely with supervisors, colleagues and other trades to ensure effective service delivery.
• Maintain accurate records using mobile technology and other systems provided.
• Ensure vehicles, materials, tools and equipment are properly maintained and used safely.
