Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd. is seeking a Multi Trade Operative to cover the North West on a full-time, long-term contract with a social housing maintenance contractor.

The role involves refurbishing void properties and delivering multi-trade repairs across Preston, Liverpool, Manchester, and surrounding areas. You will carry out joinery, basic plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating, often solo or in a small team, ensuring high-quality workmanship and timely completion.

Qualifications

• Experience in social housing void properties or domestic refurbishment.
• Background across multiple trades (joinery, plumbing, tiling, decorating).
• Own van and tools preferred.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality work.
• Available for full-time, long-term assignment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out refurbishment and maintenance on social housing void properties.
• Perform multi-trade repairs to return properties to lettable standard.
• Undertake joinery, basic plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating.
• Work across North West client contracts.
• Travel to sites in Preston, Liverpool and Manchester, plus nearby areas.
• Deliver high-quality work whether independently or as part of a team.

Overview

We are currently looking for a Multi Trade Operative to work across the North West on a full-time, long-term contract for a well‑established property maintenance contractor specialising in the social housing sector.

This opportunity is with a respected contractor delivering refurbishment and turnaround works to void properties for a number of housing providers. You'll be joining a busy, growing team with consistent work across Preston, Liverpool, Manchester and the surrounding areas.

We're looking for candidates with experience in property maintenance and refurbishment, including roles such as Multi‑Skilled Operative, Joiner, Carpenter, Kitchen Fitter, Bathroom Fitter, Plumber, Maintenance Operative, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Carry out refurbishment and maintenance works to social housing void properties
• Complete a variety of multi-trade repairs to bring properties back to a lettable standard
• Undertake joinery, basic plumbing, patch plastering, tiling and decorating as required
• Work across multiple client contracts throughout the North West
• Travel to sites across Preston, Liverpool, Manchester and occasionally further afield
• Deliver work to a high standard while working independently or as part of a team

Qualifications

• A strong background across multiple trades
• Their own van and tools (preferred)
• A full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently and consistently deliver high‑quality work
• Availability to commit to full‑time, long‑term work
