Job summary

Gilmartins in London is seeking experienced Full Multi Traders to carry out repairs across social housing. You will work on carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical tasks, plastering, tiling, and painting/decorating in Croydon, Merton, Wandsworth, Bromley and nearby areas.

Applicants must have a full manual driving licence, own tools, and provide certificates. DBS and ECS where possible are preferred. The company offers a van, fuel card, mobile phone/PDA, and 28 days holiday plus a Christmas hamper.

Job description

We are recruiting experienced Full Multi Traders that can carry out Carpentry, Plumbing basic Electrics (like-for-like), Patch Plastering, Tiling with Painting and Decorating skills.

Gilmartins work in social housing and provide reactive repairs for local authorities and housing associations.

The job requires work and travel across South London including areas Croydon, Merton , Wandsworth, Bromley and surrounding areas.

Gilmartins is a family owned and run business; our staff are valued and our ethos is to promote from within. Our Board of Directors mostly started on the tools themselves so have a ‘hands‑on’ understanding of the work we do.

The role is to

• Carry out property repairs and maintenance works – social housing
• Working to Scope of Works on PDA for each job

Requirements for Job

• Full manual driving license –not automatic licence
• Own tools
• Fully qualified and able to provide copies of certificates
• DBS certificate
• ECS card - ideally

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm with 1 Saturday or Sunday in 4 required on a rota basis, as required once every 4 weeks. On call from Monday to Sunday, 5pm to 1am (£35-£50 per call out)
