Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Multi Skilled Prevention Officer to join Swindon Borough Council's Corporate Estates team. This hands-on role covers a wide range of repairs, compliance checks, preventative maintenance, and facilities support across council buildings.

The role requires a qualified tradesperson with postcode Swindon, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work across multiple trades to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Requires Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent in a core trade (Plumbing, Plastering, Electrical, Building Maintenance).
• Experience in building maintenance, repairs or facilities management.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across corporate estate buildings.
• Complete repairs across trades including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, and general maintenance.
• Undertake daily, weekly, and monthly compliance checks.
• Support fire alarm testing, emergency response, and facilities management activities.
• Conduct on-site risk assessments and identify health and safety concerns.
• Facilitate contractor access and monitor works on site.
• Assist with office moves and building support activities.
• Use mobile technology to receive, manage, and update work orders.
• Carry out quality inspections and ensure compliance standards.
