Job summary

Fortus Recruitment Group is recruiting a Multi Trade Carpenter to work across occupied social housing properties in Bedfordshire on a permanent basis. The role involves delivering a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance with strong workmanship and customer service.

You will perform carpentry repairs (1st/2nd fix), basic plumbing, painting and decorating, plastering patching, and tiling, ensuring work is high-quality and on schedule while maintaining safety and documenting tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Multi Trade Operative within social housing, property maintenance, or a similar environment.
• Competent across a range of trade disciplines, particularly carpentry, plumbing, decorating, and basic brickwork.
• Experience working in occupied properties.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A positive and professional approach to customer service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out carpentry repairs both 1st and 2nd fix.
• Carry out basic plumbing repairs.
• Undertake painting and decorating works.
• Patch plastering.
• Basic tiling.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
• Communicate professionally with tenants and colleagues while providing excellent customer service.
• Complete relevant job documentation accurately.
