Niyaa People Ltd is recruiting a permanent Multi-Trade Engineer to deliver day-to-day repairs and maintenance across tenants' homes in Watford and the surrounding area. This varied role suits an experienced engineer with a strong primary trade and proven ability across multiple other disciplines, offering £42,206 per year for a 40-hour week.

You will work independently, diagnose faults, complete high-quality repairs, and provide a professional service.

Qualifications

• Recognised primary trade with experience in a second trade.
• Experience in plumbing, carpentry, tiling, plastering, bricklaying, painting/decorating, or groundworks/fencing.

Responsibilities

• Complete day-to-day repairs in tenants' homes across Watford and surrounding area.
• Receive work orders and appointment times via PDA.
• Fault finding and diagnosing repair requirements.
• Identify practical, cost-effective repair solutions.
• Complete repairs to a high standard while minimising customer inconvenience.
• Organise jobs with Planning Team to maximise time.
• Arrange and collect materials as required.
• Work safely in customers' homes and public areas.
• Work with minimum supervision and manage workload.
• Use PDA to update and record work.

This is a varied opportunity for an experiencedMulti-Trade Engineerwith a strong primary trade and proven ability across multiple other disciplines, offering£42,206 per yearfor a 40-hour working week. The role offers long-term permanent employment, a company van and fuel card, 28 days' annual leave, an employer pension contribution of up to 11%, and opportunities for ongoing development. You will work independently across a varied repairs service, diagnosing issues, completing high-quality repairs and providing a professional service to customers. I'd love to see CVs from anyone who has worked as aMulti-Trade Engineer, Multi-Skilled Operative, Multi-Trade Operative or similar maintenance professional.

As a Multi-Trade Engineer, you will be:

• Completing day-to-day repairs in tenants' homes across Watford and the surrounding area.
• Receiving work orders and appointment times through a PDA.
• Fault finding and accurately diagnosing repair requirements.
• Identifying efficient and cost-effective solutions to problems.
• Completing repairs to a workmanlike standard while minimising inconvenience to customers.
• Working with the Planning Team to organise jobs and maximise your working time.
• Arranging and collecting materials where required.
• Working safely in customers' homes and public areas in line with relevant policies and procedures.
• Working with minimum supervision and managing your own workload.
• Using an electronic PDA to receive, update and record completed work.
• Providing out-of-hours support on a rotational basis.
• Undertaking other reasonable duties and projects as required by your line manager.

• A recognised primary trade, with strong experience in a second trade and working knowledge of at least two additional trades.
• Experience in one or more of the following: plumbing, carpentry, tiling, plastering, bricklaying, painting and decorating, or groundworks/fencing.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• The ability to identify practical, efficient and value-for-money repair solutions.
• A City & Guilds qualification in a relevant trade or equivalent experience.
• The ability to work independently and organise your own workload.
• Good customer service skills and a professional approach when working in occupied homes.
• Confidence using a PDA or similar electronic device to receive and record work.
• A full clean driving licence.
• Willingness to maintain a satisfactory basic DBS check.
• A flexible approach and willingness to support an out-of-hours rota.

Working hours & responsibilities

This is a40-hour-per-weekpermanent position. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day repairs, attending scheduled appointments and completing work efficiently and safely.

You will be expected to specialise in one primary trade, be highly competent in a second trade and have the ability to undertake at least two further trades to a competent standard.

Location & travel

The role is based inWatford and the surrounding areas, with travel between tenants' homes and other properties required to complete scheduled repairs and maintenance work. Acompany van and fuel cardare provided, so you will have everything you need to travel between jobs and carry out your daily work.
