We are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Vehicle Repair Technician to join our team based in Basildon.
As a Multi Skilled Vehicle Repair Technician, you will undertake all tasks within the repair process within a controlled period, ensuring efficient workflow.
Responsibilities include:
- Recognize and report on vehicle structure and paintwork issues.
- Ensure vehicles meet safety standards upon return to customers, noting faults on job cards.
- Remove and store vehicle components, fluids, and gases safely as directed.
- Dispose of vehicle components and fluids responsibly.
- Perform quality control and sign off repairs.
- Report faults noticed during repairs.
- Maintain equipment and tools, report faults.
- Follow repair methods as per job pack and manufacturer instructions.
- Replace and repair panels, including filler work for paint preparation.
- Perform paint repairs accurately using appropriate equipment.
- Prepare surfaces for topcoat and apply paint as per specifications.
- Finish with flat and polish to a high standard.
- Adhere to health and safety standards.
- Document all components, materials, and consumables used.
- Protect vehicles during repairs.
- Complete QC documentation and ensure departmental sign-offs.
Skills and experience required:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in vehicle body repair (Paint/Panel MET).
- Full UK driving license.
- Willingness to gain relevant qualifications.
- ATA qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
- Experience in bodyshop repairs.
- Team player with initiative.
- Flexible with a positive attitude.
- Responsible and culturally aware.
