We are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Vehicle Repair Technician to join our team based in Basildon.
As a Multi Skilled Vehicle Repair Technician, you will undertake all tasks within the repair identified within a controlled period of time to ensure efficient workflow within the workshop.
Responsibilities:
- Observe, recognize, and report on vehicle structure and paintwork.
- Ensure vehicles meet safety standards upon return to customers, and report faults on the job card.
- Removal and safe storage of vehicle components, fluids, and gases as directed by work order.
- Removal and safe disposal of vehicle components and fluids as directed by work order.
- Perform quality control of all repairs, with final sign-off.
- Report faults and defects noticed during work.
- Care for equipment, tools, and report any faults.
- Follow repair methods as per the job pack, manufacturer, or other sources.
- Replace all new bolted panels as directed by work order, following specified repair methods.
- Repair damaged panels, including filler work, for paint preparation.
- Perform paint repair using paint mixing schemes, spray booths, and drying lamps.
- Prepare repaired areas for topcoat application.
- Apply topcoat to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Flat and polish to a high standard as required.
- Adhere to PAS125 / Health & Safety processes.
- Document all components, materials, and consumables used accurately.
- Protect customer vehicles during repairs.
- Sign off QC sheets and ensure compliance with standards.
Skills and experience required:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in vehicle body repair (Paint / Panel MET).
- Full UK Driving license.
- Willingness to gain relevant qualifications.
- ATA Qualifications are an advantage but not essential.
- Experience in bodyshop repairs.
- Team player with initiative.
- Flexible with a can-do attitude.
- Responsible and culturally aware.
