Job Title: Multi-Skilled Carpenter
Job Purpose
To carry out a comprehensive range of carpentry, joinery,and associated multi-trade maintenance works across residential and commercialproperties. The post holder will be responsible for repairing and maintainingtimber and UPVC doors and windows, accurately measuring and specifyingreplacement joinery items, and delivering high-quality repairs that meetcustomer expectations, safety standards, and organisational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Carpentry and Joinery
- Carryout all aspects of carpentry and joinery repairs, maintenance, andinstallation works.
- Repair,maintain, and replace timber doors, frames, skirting boards, architraves,and associated fixtures.
- Repairand maintain sash windows, ensuring smooth operation and preservationofexisting features.
- Repairand maintain UPVC windows and doors, including locks, handles, hinges,mechanisms, and glazing components.
- Undertakeforce-entry and emergency access works to UPVC doors and windows whenrequired.
- Fitand replace timber doors, box frames, and other bespoke joinerycomponents.
Measuring and Specification
- Accuratelymeasure doors, windows, box frames, and other joinery items forreplacement or manufacture.
- Prepareand submit detailed joinery order requests with precise specifications.
- Ensurereplacement joinery products are compliant with required standards and fitcorrectly upon installation.
Multi-Trade Maintenance
- Carryout basic plumbing repairs such as replacing taps, traps, and minorpipework repairs.
- Undertakewall and floor tiling repairs and replacement works.
- Performpatch plastering, making-good works, and minor decorating preparation.
- Completegeneral maintenance tasks associated with property repairs.
Quality and Customer Service
- Ensureall work is completed to a professional, safe, and acceptable standard.
- Deliverexcellent customer service when working in occupied properties.
- Maintainclean and tidy working areas throughout and upon completion of works.
- Communicateeffectively with tenants, residents, supervisors, and colleagues.
Health and Safety
- Complywith all Health and Safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Usetools, equipment, and materials safely and appropriately.
- Conductwork in a manner that minimises risks to residents, colleagues, and thepublic.
- Reporthazards, accidents, and incidents in accordance with company procedures.
Experience
- Provenexperience in carpentry and joinery maintenance and repairs.
- Experiencerepairing and maintaining timber doors, frames, and windows.
- Experienceworking with sash windows and UPVC doors and windows.
- Experienceaccurately measuring and preparing specifications for replacement joinery.
- Experiencecarrying out maintenance work within occupied and void properties.
- Experienceundertaking basic plumbing, tiling, and patch plastering repairs.
- Experiencewithin social housing, local authority, or property maintenanceenvironments.
- Experienceundertaking responsive repairs and planned maintenance works.
- Experiencecarrying out emergency repairs and force-entry works.
Qualifications
- NVQLevel 2 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent qualification/experience).
- FullUK Driving Licence.
- Competencyin the safe use of carpentry and maintenance equipment.
- NVQLevel 3 in Carpentry and Joinery.
- CSCSCard.
- Healthand Safety qualification such as IOSH Working Safely.

Additional Information

- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Contract Type: Temporary/Agency (as applicable)

- Travel: Travel between properties and work locations may be required as part of the role.
- Weoperate on a bi-weekly payment schedule.
