EQUANS is looking for a Multiskilled Technician (Fabric & Joinery) to join our team in Blackburn on a permanent basis at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
Based at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital but may also be required to cover other sites when necessary, the Multi-Skilled BF Technician will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards within Hospital environment. They will provide guidance to others on site, showing expertise in Building Fabric and Joinery maintenance. Ensure appropriate and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery.
The Technician will have advanced technical knowledge in more than one skill or technology area.

The individual will play a vital role to Equans, working alongside an already established technical team to ensure that the operations are legally and contractually compliant and represent excellence in service delivery.

We are looking for a driven individual to add expertise and dimension to the building maintenance team at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. They will demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in responding to changing business requirements and will establish good working relationships with other team members. Qualifications or Required Experience:
Essential:
– Approved and formal apprenticeship served in Joinery or similar and recognised building discipline and practical experience within a similar industry would be an advantage.
– Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a commercial/ industrial building maintenance environment.
– Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
– Sound knowledge of Health & Safety.
– Ability to measure, work to plans (method statements), read technical diagrams.
Desirable:
– Experience of working within a PFI Healthcare environment.
– Experience with PPM & Reactive Works.
– Working closely with a Fire Strategy to ensure the building elements (Doors/Walls/partitions and penetrations) remain compliant in line with good industry practice.
