Job summary

Gatwick Airport Limited is seeking a Multi Skilled Technician to maintain a diverse range of airport systems and assets in a permanent role.

You will deliver planned, reactive and corrective maintenance on critical assets, diagnose faults across electrical, mechanical and control systems, and keep accurate CMMS records while complying with safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Maintenance engineering experience in a live environment.
• Apprenticeship or equivalent in mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering.
• Electrical or mechanical engineering qualification to ONC level.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned, reactive and corrective maintenance on critical airport assets.
• Diagnose faults and maintain electrical, mechanical and control systems.
• Maintain CMMS records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Promote safety and report incidents/hazards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to minimise disruption and support improvements.
• Develop skills and contribute to the engineering team's performance.

What is the role?

This role is critical in maintaining a diverse range of assets and complex systems including cabin baggage X-Ray machines, automatic tray return systems, body scanners, Flight Information Display Screen systems, door access control systems and barriers, Standby / Back-up Power Generators, Pumping Stations and associated water infrastructure serving our ponds and waterways.

What will you do?

• Deliver planned, reactive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure the safe and reliable operation of critical airport assets and infrastructure.
• Diagnose faults and carry out electrical, mechanical and control system maintenance to maximise asset availability and performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS and ensure compliance with regulatory, company and manufacturer requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to health and safety procedures and reporting incidents, hazards and near misses.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to minimise operational disruption, share technical knowledge and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Continuously develop technical skills and contribute to the overall performance and capability of the engineering team.

Do you have what we're looking for?

• Advanced Modern Apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
• Experience within a maintenance engineering environment
• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification to ONC level, or equivalent experience
• Electrical Skilled Person ESR 2 certification
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Experience using Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
• Knowledge of surface and foul water assets, pumping infrastructure and power generators would be advantageous
