A leading facilities management company is seeking a Multi-skilled Shift Engineer with an electrical bias to provide maintenance services across various clients. The role involves ensuring reliability and safety of operational equipment while adhering to company policies. Ideal candidates will possess an NVQ Level 3 and strong problem-solving skills, with opportunities for training and career development.
We are looking for an experienced Multi-skilled Shift Engineer – Electrical Bias to work with a range of Mitie clients. The role involves conducting work that provides a multi-skilled maintenance service, covering electrical and mechanical disciplines, and delivering reactive and proactive maintenance as per project requirements to all operational equipment.
You will be responsible for carrying out modifications and installations when required, maintaining, repairing, and calibrating electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation plant to optimize reliability and maintainability. You will ensure all key performance indicators are met, liaise with contractors or external suppliers as needed, and complete all required paperwork and reports accurately and promptly.
You should perform work to high standards, in line with current company policies and procedures, and report any deficiencies in systems or equipment that may lead to service failure, health and safety risks, or environmental issues. Ensuring your work and that of your team is completed safely and diligently is essential.
The ideal candidate will have up-to-date training such as an NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (multi-discipline) and good knowledge of building statutory compliance. They must be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment per the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), able to read and understand technical drawings, and possess strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Suitable training may be provided to ensure competency. Experience with critical systems such as UPS and standby generation is advantageous, as is experience with LV AP systems.
