Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Multi Skilled Shift Engineer (Electrical Bias) in London. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring safety and reliability across a high-profile estate.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 Electrical and City & Guilds Level 3, plus a recognised apprenticeship and 2+ years post-apprenticeship experience. You must pass intrusive security vetting and be ready for 24/7 coverage with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical is essential.
• City & Guilds Level 3 required or preferred.
• Recognised electrical apprenticeship completed.
• Minimum two years' post‑apprenticeship experience in building services.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical building services equipment.
• Diagnose faults using technical manuals, drawings, and diagnostic tools to restore systems efficiently.
• Support critical building systems including power distribution, lighting, motor controls, standby generators, and fire alarm/PA systems.
• Conduct inspections, identify defects or warning indicators, and take corrective action to prevent system failures.
• Work collaboratively within a balanced shift team to provide 24/7 coverage and maintain service continuity across the estate.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements for the role:

• NVQ level 3 Electrical - ESSENTIAL
• City and Guilds level 3
• Recognised electrical apprenticeship.
• Minimum two years' post‑apprenticeship experience in a similar building services environment.
• C&G 2391 (or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
• Ability to pass full intrusive security vetting (mandatory).
