Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Multi Skilled Mobile Engineer - Electrical Bias to provide electrical and mechanical maintenance at client sites in Bury St Edmunds. You will perform reactive and proactive maintenance, read technical drawings, and work up to 40 hours per week with some flexibility.

The role requires 18th Edition, NVQ3 in Engineering Maintenance, and strong problem-solving abilities. Teamwork and safe working practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have 18th Edition and NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering Maintenance or equivalent.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide a multi-skilled maintenance service covering both electrical and mechanical disciplines, delivering reactive and proactive maintenance in line with site requirements.
• Undertake work within your main qualification and skillset, ensuring tasks are completed safely and within agreed timescales.
• Carry out modifications and installations when required, and maintain, repair and calibrate electrical, mechanical and instrumentation plant to optimise reliability and maintainability.
• Ensure all key performance indicators are met and liaise with contractors or external suppliers where required.
• Complete all required paperwork and produce reports accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard in line with company policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• 18th Edition and NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering Maintenance (multi-discipline) or equivalent, with appropriate up-to-date training.
• Good knowledge of Building Statutory Compliance and responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
