At MSV Housing, we are committed to providing our customers with good quality, safe homes. Our Multi Trade Operative team plays a key role in achieving this goal.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with excellent trade skills to join our established team. Reporting to our Area Manager – Repairs, the Multi Trade Operative will be an integral part of our Property Care Team, delivering high-quality, efficient damp and mould services to our customers.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Performing maintenance and repair tasks across multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general building maintenance.
  2. Conducting routine inspections to identify and address potential issues early.
  3. Working efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
  4. Collaborating with team members to achieve project goals.
  5. Maintaining accurate records of work and materials used.

Candidate requirements:

  • City and Guilds Craft or NVQ level 2 in a relevant trade, or substantial relevant experience.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven ability to deliver quality work on time.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a demanding workload.
  • A valid driving license.

This hands-on role requires effective communication skills and empathy to understand our customers' diverse needs. You will work in the communities we serve, often with minimal supervision, and as part of a flexible team.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. As this role involves entering customers’ homes, a basic criminal records check is required. A criminal conviction does not necessarily disqualify you; decisions are made case-by-case. Further details are available in our Safeguarding policy attached with the vacancy pack.

Benefits include:

  • Company vehicle and essential car user allowance.
  • Flexible working options with home working kit provided.
  • 33 days holiday plus bank holidays, and a holiday buy scheme.
  • Company pension scheme with up to 10% matched contributions.
  • Health cash plan covering optical, dental, and other treatments.
  • Enhanced sick pay of up to 3 months full pay and 3 months half pay.
  • Health and Wellbeing support, including employee assistance, counselling, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Life assurance, subject to pension scheme membership.
  • Learning and development opportunities for career progression.
  • Commitment to Equality and Inclusion through various employee networks.

We support work-life balance with flexible working options and wellbeing support for all colleagues.
