Job summary

MSV Housing is seeking Multi Skilled Operatives to deliver a range of repairs and maintenance across domestic and commercial properties. You will perform carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting and decorating, working with residents in a customer-focused, safe manner.

You will join a proactive team, travel across the North West, and uphold high standards of health and safety, quality, and service. DBS check is required due to home visits.

Qualifications

• A City & Guilds Craft qualification or NVQ Level 2 in a relevant trade (or significant equivalent practical experience)
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the North West
• A basic DBS check will be required due to home visits
• Experience delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance on domestic/commercial properties
• Strong health and safety awareness and compliance with company policies

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain a wide range of building components and fixtures (carpentry, doors, windows, kitchens, fencing, roofing, etc.)
• Carry out multi-skilled maintenance works (minor plumbing, plastering, tiling, brickwork, decorating)
• Deliver high-quality work safely within health & safety procedures and asbestos regulations
• Provide excellent customer service by liaising with residents and completing work within timescales and budgets
• Manage materials, equipment and company vehicles, support apprentices, and participate in out-of-hours rota

Reporting to the Repairs Team Leader, you'll deliver a wide range of repairs and maintenance services, including carpentry, minor plumbing, plastering, tiling, and painting and decorating.

We're looking for a skilled, customer-focused professional, or an enthusiastic individual with strong maintenance and repair experience, who takes pride in delivering high-quality work. You'll be a proactive team player with excellent problem-solving skills, capable of managing a varied workload independently while maintaining high standards of health and safety and customer service. A recognised trade qualification (or equivalent experience), a full UK driving licence, and confidence using digital systems are essential.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• A City & Guilds Craft qualification or NVQ Level 2 in a relevant trade (or significant equivalent practical experience)

• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across theNorth West

• Experience delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance work within agreed timescales

• Experience working collaboratively as part of a busy, multi-disciplinary team

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

• A customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding service

• Confidence using digital devices and systems to record work activities and manage jobs

• A flexible,reliableand self-motivated approach, with a commitment to safety, professionalism and MSV's values.

This is a hands-on role at the heart of the services we deliver to our customers. You'll work within the communities we serve, using your strong communication skills, customer focus, and ability to understand and respond to a wide range of customer needs with empathy. Working both independently and as part of a team, you'll take a flexible approach while operating with minimal supervision.
