Job summary

Bellway is recruiting for a Multi Skilled Operative to ensure new homes are finished to the highest quality prior to handover. You will identify, rectify and close out defects, perform finishing works, and support site teams to maintain standards.

Experience in residential housebuilding and multi-trade capabilities are essential, with NHBC knowledge desirable. This role is onsite with opportunities to ensure customer satisfaction and safe, tidy worksites.

Qualifications

• Experience within residential housebuilding, construction finishing, or property maintenance.
• NHBC knowledge and understanding of housebuilding quality standards is desirable.
• First Aid Qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out snagging inspections of completed and near-complete homes against company standards and NHBC requirements.
• Identify defects, quality issues and incomplete works; ensure issues are rectified promptly.
• Work alongside site management teams, subcontractors and Customer Care teams.
• Complete customer care remedial works where required following occupation.
• Maintain accurate records of snagging items and completed works; monitor subcontractor workmanship.
• Assist with health and safety inspections and ensure works follow site rules.

Job description

Principal Accountabilities

Carry out snagging inspections of completed and near-complete homes. Identify defects, quality issues and incomplete works against company standards and NHBC requirements.

• Basic joinery and carpentry
• Decorating and paint touch-ups
• Minor plaster repairs
• Basic plumbing adjustments
• Basic maintenance and repair works

Ensure plots are fully prepared and presented for customer demonstrations and legal completion. Work alongside site management teams, subcontractors and Customer Care teams to ensure all defects are rectified promptly. Complete customer care remedial works where required following occupation. Maintain accurate records of snagging items and completed works. Monitor the quality of subcontractor workmanship and report recurring issues to site management. Assist with health and safety inspections and ensure all works are completed in accordance with site rules and company procedures. Support the delivery of excellent customer satisfaction scores through high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and tidy condition.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills

Experience within residential housebuilding, construction finishing, or property maintenance.

Multi-trade skills covering several of the following:

• General repairs

Previous experience in a dedicated snagging, finishing foreman or customer care operative role is desirable. NHBC knowledge and understanding of housebuilding quality standards is desirable.

Qualifications and Training

• First Aid Qualification is desirable.
• CSCS card.
• Full UK driving licence.

Skills and Aptitude

• Ability to identify construction defects and quality issues.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
