Position: Multi Skilled Operative

We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our friendly team based at Tarmac Cloddach Sand & Gravel Quarry, Elgin, near Inverness. The role primarily involves operating loaders and static plant. The site is accessible from Elgin, Forres, Kinloss, Lossiemouth, and surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities

1. Reporting to the Section Manager, the Multi Skilled Operative is part of a team producing dry aggregate material for the construction industry.
2. Ensure top health, safety, environmental, and quality performance in plant operations.
3. Operate machinery including dumpers, loading shovels, forklift, and static plant.
4. Perform daily maintenance of static plant and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
5. Assist in static plant operations and optimization through training and operational tasks.
6. Work with team members to ensure quality and timely deliveries of materials.
7. Operate loading shovels (preferred but not essential).
8. Promote a culture of zero harm and behavioral safety.
9. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
10. Perform additional duties as required; full training provided.

The Ideal Candidate

Ideal candidates will have proven experience in a similar aggregates, industrial, or factory environment, with good communication skills and a desire to develop operational and supervisory skills.

• Knowledge of the industry, plant, and quarrying preferred.
• Experience as a loader or static plant operator is advantageous.
• Flexible, self-motivated, and a team player.
• Knowledge of risk assessments, SSOW (HIRA), and permit systems (preferred).
• Compliance with company policies, targets, and standards.
• Good timekeeping and flexible working approach.
• Full UK driving license and IT literacy.
• Shovel license (preferred but not essential).
