Job summary

A Kendal-based manufacturing company is seeking a Multi-Skilled Mechanical Engineer to maintain and improve site machinery, ensuring reliability and efficiency.

You will diagnose faults, carry out PPM activities, and contribute to continuous improvement while working safely and within company procedures. The role requires an engineering qualification and proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, with basic electrical knowledge and PLC fault-finding being advantageous.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in engineering.
• HNC or HND or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Basic electrical knowledge; PLC fault-finding experience is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible and proactive maintenance approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system.
