Job summary

Proactive Global is recruiting for Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to join the Heathrow Airport operations team. You will perform maintenance on baggage and cargo handling systems, ensuring safety, quality and timely service while working 4 on 4 off days and nights.

Ideal candidates have an apprenticeship and Level 3 mechanical/electrical qualifications, plus CMMS literacy. Experience in FMCG or automated warehousing is desirable, and you must be able to obtain an airside pass.

Qualifications

• Time served apprenticeship or equivalent.
• City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 in maintenance mechanical/electrical discipline.
• Lean Six Sigma yellow belt or CI project delivery experience.
• Good interpersonal and written/verbal communication across all levels.
• Able to read and interpret drawings and use CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance on equipment and ensure right-first-time repairs.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform effective corrective maintenance.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults in field devices (motors, sensors, scanners).
• Enter all work and parts used into the CMMS (Maximo).
• Demonstrate problem-solving and conduct root cause analysis.
• Maintain professional customer interactions via face-to-face, email or phone.
• Ensure SLAs are consistently achieved and improved.
• Provide cover for other service technicians and shifts when needed.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and keep a tidy, safe workplace.
