Job summary

Lancer Scott Ltd. is seeking a hands-on Building Services Operative with a focus on plumbing to cover Swindon and Chippenham. The role involves completing a range of maintenance tasks, coordinating materials via the helpdesk, and ensuring accurate records and client documentation.

You will work with internal teams and external clients, applying practical problem-solving to keep projects on track and uphold high standards across internal and external spaces.

• Experience in general Building Services Maintenance work.
• Well developed communication skills and able to work successfully with both internal and external stakeholders
• Able to produce clear and professional notes and emails.
• Comfortable working with multiple systems and maintaining accurate records
• A problem solving mindset, with a practical application

Responsibilities

• Carry out a range of building services work orders with a focus on plumbing in Swindon and Chippenham.
• Install and make good plasterboard, skirting and boxing in on a range of spaces.
• 1st and 2nd fix plumbing in hospitality spaces and general repairs.
• Carry out decorating projects both internally and externally.
• Ensure materials are requested and delivered to the correct address.
• Purchase additional materials and equipment if necessary.
• Liaise with clients and explain issues/challenges on a job.
• Update the job log with notes and upload documentation.
• Support the Account Manager and Billing Team with query management to aid invoicing.

What will be my core responsibilities?

You will cover the Swindon and Chippenham areas carrying out a range of building services work orders, with a focus on plumbing.

• Instal and make good plasterboard, skirting and boxing in on a range of different spaces.


• 1st and 2nd fix plumbing in different hospitality spaces, along with general repairs.


• Carry out a range of decorating projects both internally and externally.


• Ensure all required materials are requested and cross check with the helpdesk to make sure they are delivered to the correct address.


• Purchase additional materials and equipment if necessary.


• Liaise with the client on any queries and be comfortable explaining any issues/challenges on a job.


• Confirm each job meets the required standards and provide paperwork for the clients records.


• Update the job log with notes and upload relevant documentation.


• Support the Account Manager and Billing Team with query management to aid the invoicing process.
