Job summary

MTrec Ltd Technical is seeking a maintenance technician to join our high-volume manufacturing site. You will perform planned preventative maintenance and diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ensuring safe working practices at all times.

You will assist with installation, commissioning and modification of equipment, liaise with production, engineering and contractors, and maintain parts stock. Training apprentices is also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment with safe systems of work (LOTO, permits, isolation procedures).
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.
• Computer literate with ability to access information and complete reports.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance of equipment, tools and facilities; focus on preventing breakdowns via PPM procedures.
• Diagnose faults and complete reactive repairs across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and modification of equipment.
• Liaise with production, engineering and external contractors to resolve issues quickly.
• Identify and order spare parts and maintain stock levels.
• Conduct root cause analysis of breakdowns and implement recurrence prevention measures.
• Work as part of a maintenance team with good cross-department communication.
• Operate access platforms (scissor lifts, cherry pickers).
• Utilise PC for information access, emails and reporting.
• Assist with training and mentoring of apprentices.

The Job you\'ll do

• Responsible for ensuring safe working practices are followed at all times.


• Completion of effective planned preventive maintenance of equipment, tools and facilities, with an emphasis on breakdown prevention through the continual development of PPM procedures.


• Diagnose faults and complete reactive repairs across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.


• Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of equipment.


• Liaise with production, engineering, and external contractors to resolve issues quickly.


• Identify and order spare parts, ensuring stock is maintained at required levels.


• Root cause analysis of breakdowns and implementation of effective reoccurrence prevention plans using tools such as Major Breakdown Reports.


• Work as part of a maintenance team and demonstrate good communication skills in interfacing with other departments, suppliers, contractors and manufacturers as required.


• Operating access platforms including scissor lifts and cherry pickers.


• Use of PC for accessing information, emails and completing reports.


• Assisting with the training and mentoring of apprentices.

About You

• To apply, we are looking for someone who has strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.


• Experience within a high volume-manufacturing environment, is competent in safe systems of work (LOTO, permits, isolation procedures) and has the ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.


• You should also be computer literate and ideally have experience at using CMM\'s.


• If you have good organisational skills, are self-motivated and have a hands-on approach to problem solving with the ability to work alone as well as part of a team this role could be ideal for you.
