Applications are invited for the above position at our Ballyrashane site. Lakeland Dairies Co-operative Society Limited (The Group) is the second largest dairy processor on the island of Ireland. The business is complex and ambitious, with a milk supply pool of 2 billion litres from over 3,200 farms across 16 counties. We operate modern dairy manufacturing facilities in 8 locations across Ireland and the UK, supplying a broad customer base including some of the world's leading companies in dairy food ingredients, foodservice, and consumer food channels globally. We export approximately 240 products to over 100 countries worldwide.

The Group's Agribusiness Division (Lakeland Agri) runs a state-of-the-art Animal Feed Manufacturing Facility, providing high-quality feeds and agricultural inputs to farmers across Ireland.

The Role

As part of our multi-skilled engineering team, the successful candidate will perform planned and emergency maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of our plant 365 days a year. The role involves working on a rotating shift pattern including nights and weekends.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Supporting engineering initiatives to maximize production efficiency.
2. Fault-finding and troubleshooting in electrical and mechanical systems.
3. Mechanical and electrical repairs on high-speed processing, handling, and packaging equipment.
4. Providing technical support for plant facilities, including compressed air, steam, refrigeration, and effluent systems.
5. Participating in preventative maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines and legal requirements.
6. Assisting in planning and installing new projects or equipment, including liaising with suppliers and installation of equipment.
7. Participating in training on new or specialized equipment, potentially involving travel.

The Person

We seek an individual with:

• A relevant qualification such as ONC/OND in Engineering, C&G, or equivalent, plus an engineering apprenticeship.
• The ability to read and interpret specifications and diagrams.
• Experience in electrical and mechanical fault-finding/problem-solving.
• Good knowledge of electrical standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible attitude towards work hours and shift patterns.
