About the Role

Multi-Skilled Engineer – Mechanical or Electrical
Shift: 4 on 4 off | 2 days/2 nights

We are seeking a multi-skilled maintenance engineer (Electrical or Mechanical bias) to join a large ambient food manufacturing business. This company offers a great benefits package and is expanding its production capability while aiming to drive a culture change within their Engineering Team.

Your Role:

1. The daily reporting of breakdowns and PPM activities.
2. Prioritisation of repair work.
3. Planning and monitoring machine performance.
4. Working with the Planning Department to negotiate machine availability.
5. Monitoring failure.
6. Supporting external contractors.
7. Providing technical production support when required.
8. Maintaining the highest standards in housekeeping, adopting a clean-as-you-go policy.
9. Completing paperwork and work sign-off to the highest standards.

Qualifications/Experience Required

The ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum of HNC/NVQ level 3 in an Engineering-related discipline. Completion of an apprenticeship or an equivalent formal training programme in installation and maintenance that includes relevant practical experience is also preferred.

The Site

This is a large food manufacturing business with a long-standing history in the area, employing circa 500+ people. The site is set to receive significant investment over the next 2 years and supplies most major retailers in the UK. It features a mix of new and old equipment in a fully automated factory and has a settled engineering team of 40+ with a good mix of electrical and mechanical skills.
